Primal Girls In VA Beach, Chaos Ensues

This weekend, Primal's own Randi "The Natural" Watts and Christy "The Terminator" Phillips ventured down to Virginia Beach to compete in the CrossFit Games Mid-Atlantic Qualifier.  The two-day event consisted of four grueling workouts, designed to test all ten domains of fitness.

The girls worked their hearts out among a field of 46 tough women.  At the conclusion of Saturday, Randi was in 27th place after several strong performances, while Christy sat atop the leaderboard with a 1:39 lead over second place!

The final workout on Sunday consisted  of squat snatches and chest-to-bar pull-ups.  Unfortunately, Randi could not finish under the fifteen minute cap and was given a DNF - Randi hates C2B pull-ups.  In the afternoon, Christy began a staggered heat consisting of the top ten women.  She would not give up her lead.  After a long and exhausting weekend, Christy took home first place and qualified for the CrossFit Games in July!

These two young ladies trained absurdly hard in preparation for this event, so feel free to give them some congratulations the next time you see them in the gym.  Primal is blessed to have two such amazing athletes to inspire us daily with their efforts.  Great work, girls!

This seminar is now sold out. Lets hope we get him back for a second round soon!

Here at Primal we're super-excited to get our good friend Jim Bathurst back to the gym, and this time in stead of just showing off and making us all feel weak at gymnastics skills, he's going to be teaching a seminar to bring us up to speed!

Come learn a variety of basic and advanced gymnastic skills - handstands, elbow levers, muscle-ups and more. All ages and abilities welcome, as each and every skill will be scalable to fit your current strength and fitness level. This seminar will be taught by Jim Bathurst, creator of BeastSkills.com , a well-received site offering tutorials for feats of bodyweight strength.

The seminar will be on Sunday March 29th from 9am-12pm, cost will be $60 and spots can be purchased in the Primal Store .  In order to provide quality coaching, space is extremely limited. Sign up today before all the spots are gone!
