September Fight Gone Bad Fundraiser, 9-26-09!

On September 26th, Primal Fitness will be participating in Fight Gone Bad IV!  Yes, It's that time of the year again.  And yes, we're late telling all of you!

For those that have been Primal members long enough, you may remember our Fight Gone Bad Fundraiser from last September.  Well, it's time to strap back into the rower, pick up the medicine ball, and embrace the suck.  It will probably be miserable, but it's for a good cause.  To our newer members who may be unfamiliar with this event, here's a little info...

This is the fourth annual Fight Gone Bad fundraiser benefitting two great causes: 1) The Wounded Warrior Project, which helps provide assistance and care to America's injured soldiers returning from overseas and 2) Athletes For A Cure: an iniatitive developed by the Prostate Cancer Foundation to help fund research in hopes to one day find a cure for prostate cancer.  Hundreds of CrossFit affiliates from across the nation participated in this event last year and raised over $100,000.  Primal alone contributed over $7000 to that total.  Randi Watts and Anna Romagnoli raised the most money, each raising roughly $1000 in donations. Primal's goal this year is to raise $10,000 before September 26th.  Short notice?  Yes.  Can we do it?  Absolutely.

Here is a video explanation/demonstration of Fight Gone Bad.  Do not be afraid.  Like all CrossFit workouts, it is infinitely scalable and can be adjusted to your skill and fitness level.  How well you do on the workout matters little in comparison to the overall impact you make by raising money for prostate cancer research and America's wounded heroes.

If you would like to participate, then join Primal's affiliate team by following the steps below.  If you will be unable to attend, feel free to donate online.  Participants who raise $150 or more will receive a limited edition FGB IV t-shirt.

1) Go to the Fight Gone Bad IV website here: http://www.fgb4.org/
2) Click the "Register" tab on the right
3) After agreeing to the waiver, check the circle for "Join an Existing Team"
4) Choose "District of Columbia" from the drop-down list
5) Select "Primal Fitness" from the next drop-down list
6) From there, fill out your personal information and edit your personal donation page

After setting up your account, spread the word to your family and friends.  Every little bit helps.  Not only are we raising money for two great causes, but we're getting fitter in the process.  Let's continue to prove that we're the Best Gym in DC!
